Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a night shift assignment at an acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and CA RN licensure.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within the Operating Room unit
- 212 staffed beds
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
- May float between main OR and outpatient surgery center
- Weekend requirement of at least every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs
- On-call requirement, estimated 70-90 hours over a 6 week period, split evenly among staff
- Weekend/Holiday call coverage 0700-0700
- Epic EMR used, experience highly preferred
- Wide range of surgical specialties covered including vascular, gynecology, orthopedic, neurology, general surgery, urology, ENT, thoracic, robotics, and more
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience required, 3 years preferred
- Experience with surgical procedures as outlined in the unit's specialty list preferred
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; OR scrubs provided
- Free parking available onsite
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO must be submitted upfront at time of consideration; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
- Facility may call off shifts up to once per two-week pay period
- Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within a 50 mile radius
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
