Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Cardiac IMU) position requiring at least 1 year of IMU/PCU experience and NIH Stroke Certification.

Details

• Cardiac IMU (PCU) unit with 24 total beds
• Night shift schedule, 7:00PM-7:00AM, 13-week assignment
• Staffing ratio of 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, and 2 PCTs per shift
• Maximum patient ratio of 5:1
• Medical trauma patient population
• Standard unit equipment used
• Meditech Expanse EMR used for documentation
• Performs procedures including thoracentesis and chest tube care
• Floating to Adult Units required
• Rotating weekend schedule required

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or compact)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent IMU/PCU experience required
• Charge Nurse experience preferred
• Meditech Expanse experience preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide RN assessments, reassessments, medication administration, and post heart cath patient care
• Document patient care in Meditech Expanse EHR
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with all members of the care team
• Friendly, positive, patient-centered, and calm demeanor preferred
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
