Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and an active Ohio state license.

Details

  • Respiratory Therapy unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
  • Weekend work required
  • Floating between campuses may be required
  • Works in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings

Requirements

  • Active BLS certification required
  • RRT certification required (CRT accepted only if RRT not held, not both)
  • Active Ohio state license required in hand at time of consideration (not pending)
  • License required if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • High school diploma or official transcripts required during compliance process
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Experience with airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
  • Experience with arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
  • Experience with various medication delivery systems and administration including nebulizers, aerosol setups, and oxygen therapy

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Provide respiratory care services including ventilator management, airway management, and medication administration
  • Responsible for pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and ABG interpretation
  • Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing, with candidates outside Ohio required to travel for fingerprinting or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet
  • RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor-level leadership position; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
  • Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this facility
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
