Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with Epic charting experience for a day-shift position requiring floating and weekend/holiday coverage.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
- General OR and trauma case coverage
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Floating required
- Weekends and holidays required
- No call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license (TX or compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Experience with blood and blood product administration, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
- Experience with general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, and thyroidectomy
- Experience with orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy, closed/open fracture reduction, and laminectomy/discectomy
- Experience with spinal fusion and total joint replacement procedures
- Experience with cell saver equipment
- Experience with urology procedures including cystoscopy, laparoscopic cases, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP
- Knowledge of emergency management and fire safety protocols
- State-issued ID required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care across general surgery, orthopedic, and urology cases
- Must complete required clinical modules prior to start, with any remaining modules completed during orientation and annually thereafter
- RTO requests limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request considered during the November through January holiday season
- All RTO must be approved by management prior to contract signing
- Candidates residing within 90 miles are considered local and accepted at a lower bill rate
