Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital contract requiring 2 years of experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• 36 or 48 hour contracts available
• Mandatory floating required, including to MS/Tele units
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIH certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
• Must be able to perform physically active duties including ambulating and reaching

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg setting including wound care, IV therapy, and administration of medications such as Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
• Perform respiratory care including oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Participate in Rapid Response/Code team response as needed
• Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year including holidays and during inclement weather
• Required to work 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
• Rotating shifts, weekend work, and on-call availability required
• Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed, none during the first week due to orientation
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted; those within 50 miles are not eligible, 51-74 miles qualify for local rate
• Travelers can work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a mandatory 6-month break is required before returning in an agency capacity
