Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position in a 42-bed orthopedic unit, requiring MO or compact RN license and Trauma Level II experience.

Details

• 42-bed Medical Surgical unit at an orthopedic institute
• Patient population includes post-operative orthopaedic, trauma, ortho spine, medicine, and plastics cases
• Day shift ratio 1:5-6, night shift ratio 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Mandatory floating to MS/Tele units
• Cerner charting system preferred
• 36 or 48 hour contracts available

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required (no pending)
• BLS required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required in specialty
• Trauma Level II experience required, Trauma Level I preferred
• Teaching hospital and LTAC experience preferred
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Additional Information

• Provide post-operative nursing care for orthopedic, trauma, spine, medicine, and plastics patients
• 50% holiday coverage required on contract
• Works in a healthcare facility operating 24/7, 365 days a year, with routine exposure to contagious illnesses
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted; those residing 51-74 miles away offered at local rate, with local candidates not eligible for extensions beyond the initial contract
• Travelers residing within 50 miles are not eligible to apply
• Maximum 10 days RTO, with none available during the first week due to orientation
