Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Level 1 Trauma Surgical ICU position requiring 2 years of general ICU experience and ACLS/BLS certifications.
Details
- Level 1 Trauma Surgical ICU setting in a teaching hospital
- Patient population includes trauma, burns, sepsis, multi-system organ failure, ARDS, and post-surgical cases (AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass)
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- 36 or 48 hour contract options available
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Mandatory floating to Adult MS Cluster or other units as assigned, including Patient Observer/Sitter duties when needed
- Cerner charting system preferred
- Call requirements may apply as part of essential job functions
Requirements
- Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- CCRN and PALS certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of general ICU experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Experience with ventilator management, arterial lines, central lines, and vasoactive drip titration required
- Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, and neurosurgical patient management required
- Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity surgical trauma ICU setting
- Manage ventilated patients, cardiac drips, and complex post-surgical recovery
- Facility operates 24/7/365, requiring flexibility for rotating shifts, holidays, and inclement weather coverage
- Must work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
- Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and local rates apply for those residing 51-74 miles away
