Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 42-bed orthopaedic unit requiring 1 year of experience and MO or compact RN licensure.
Details
- 42-bed Medical Surgical unit at an orthopaedic institute
- Post-operative orthopaedic cases including trauma, ortho spine, medicine, and plastics patients
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
- Day ratio 1:5-6, night ratio 1:6
- Every other weekend required
- Mandatory floating, including float assignments to MS/Tele units
- Cerner charting preferred
Requirements
- Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I, teaching hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
- Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
Additional Information
- Provide post-operative nursing care to orthopaedic, trauma, spine, medicine, and plastics patients
- Holiday coverage required for 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
- Facility operates 24/7/365 and may require work during inclement weather
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible; those residing 51-74 miles away may be offered at a local rate
- Local candidates will not be eligible for contract extensions beyond the initial assignment
- 36 or 48 hour contract options available
- Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
