Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a CA license for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring critical care and ventilator management skills.
Details
- ICU setting within a hospital environment
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Epic charting system required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS
- MAB Training required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration required
- Ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning skills required
- Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Experience with CVA/acute stroke management required
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation based on patient age, condition, and culture
- Demonstrate leadership on the unit and participate in multidisciplinary care conferences
- Act as patient and family advocate throughout care process
- Preferred experience includes charge nurse background, teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II settings
- Preferred skills include cardiac surgery care (CABG, ECMO, Impella, IABP, TAVR, VAD), CRRT/CVVHD, chemotherapy administration, and neuro critical care (EVD, ICP monitoring, TBI, spinal cord injury)
- Experience in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings preferred
- Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate
- Local candidates accepted at local rate
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
- Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
- Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- First-time travelers not considered for this role
