Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Telemetry position requiring at least one year of recent med/tele experience and drip management expertise.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required, BSN preferred
• Minimum one year of current experience in Med/Tele required
• Minimum two years of overall nursing experience required unless otherwise specified
• Recent clinical experience in telemetry rhythm interpretation, including recognition of common arrhythmias (A-fib, A-flutter, SVT, VT, PVCs, PACs)
• Experience initiating, titrating, monitoring, and documenting drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Lasix, Insulin, and Heparin
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Responsible for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in an acute care setting
• Develop and implement individualized care plans incorporating psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors
• Collaborate with physicians, patients, and families to ensure effective communication and care transitions
• Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to optimize patient experience
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, with only one holiday request approved per contract
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Returning staff or travelers must have a one-year separation before reapplying
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at local rate
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
