Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit requiring acute care surgical floor and stepdown/PCU experience.
Details
- Med/surg unit on a Surgical/Transplant floor caring for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients as well as pre-transplant patients under evaluation
- Mixed stepdown and acute care environment, assignment to med/surg or stepdown patients based on staffing needs and acuity
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
- Close patient monitoring required for infection, rejection, and timely medication administration
- Not an OR or PACU position
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
- Acute care surgical floor experience and stepdown/PCU experience required
- OR experience not accepted for this role
- Transplant, ENT, preceptor, and charge experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to a diverse patient population with conditions ranging from simple to complex
- Administer medications, monitor IV infusions and blood products, and document patient responses to treatment
- Collaborate with physicians on examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicate care plans and discharge information with patients and families
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
- NIHSS certification must be documented if applicable
- Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no flexibility for start date changes
