Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVICU RN for a night shift hospital assignment requiring open heart recovery experience and proficiency with mechanical circulatory support devices.

Details

• CVICU setting within a hospital environment
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to float within 5 hospitals based on staffing needs (Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and OLOL)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Uses Epic for charting
• 1:2 patient ratio

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required, with Nursys verification dated within 2 weeks of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required, with recent experience within the last 12 months
• Open heart recovery experience directly from the OR required
• Experience with balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella devices, and ECMO required
• BLS certification must not expire within 30 days of assignment start date
• Must pass a dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing, with only 2 attempts allowed on a PC (not compatible with iOS devices)
• Skilled in ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, and interpretation of ABGs
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care, CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and sheath removal preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including post-operative open heart recovery
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must be clean shaven for fit testing prior to working on the unit
• Complete pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required with no exemptions
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; requests after that point will not be accepted
• No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Block scheduling is not permitted
• First-time travelers accepted but not preferred
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the hospital are subject to the local pay rate
