Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a PA or compact license and 2+ years of ED experience.
Details
- General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
- STEMI Certified and Stroke Certified facility
- Night shift schedule of 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30), every other weekend
- Epic charting system preferred
Requirements
- Active PA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, MAB, and PALS
- TNCC and CPI certifications preferred
- Trauma Center experience preferred
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
- Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, and intubation
- Experience managing IV sedation, vasopressors, and procedural sedation
- Neurological care experience including CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Experience with psychiatric patients including drug overdose, psychiatric hold, and suicidal patients preferred
- Experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations preferred
- Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Orthopedic trauma experience preferred
- Pediatric skills including abdominal pain, asthma, epiglottitis, head injury, infection, respiratory infection, seizures, spinal cord injury, and UTI care preferred
- Skilled in identifying and reporting neglect or abuse
- Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius, with local candidates accepted at a different rate
- PA fingerprints required and must be completed within 1 week of signing, which may involve travel over 100 miles
- Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing
- Pass/Fail clinical exam required for clearance, with a maximum of 3 attempts
- Orientation modules must be completed during orientation
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO must be submitted prior to consideration, as time off requests after submission will not be accepted
