Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring Neuro PCU experience and NIHSS certification.
Details
- 30-bed Medical Neuroscience Progressive Care unit caring for medical neurological patients
- Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department provides cardiac monitoring surveillance
- Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Rotating weekends required
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Float required as needed across all Cone Health facilities
- Self-scheduled via Optilink on a 6-week basis
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Neuro PCU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with CVA care, external CPAP/BiPAP, TR Band, and Yale Swallowing Screen required
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG testing required
- Central line care/management and PICC line management preferred
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- Must pass a Pass/Fail compliance EKG exam with two attempts allowed
- Current driver's license required for address verification
Additional Information
- Provide progressive care nursing to medical neurological patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Manage cardiac drips without titration
- Perform respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, non-invasive airway management, and tracheostomy care
- Utilize isolation precautions and PPE as needed
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, no local rates apply
- RTO must be submitted with initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
- Modules completed during orientation average 2-4 hours and are non-billable
