Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring NJ or compact licensure and 2.5 years of acute care experience.
Details
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- PICU setting with patient ratios of 1:1-2 that may vary based on census and acuity
- Patient population includes adolescents, infants, and pediatric patients
- Floating required within skillset to PICU, NICU, Peds, Stepdown, Intermediate units, and PHOC (Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic)
- Every other weekend work requirement
- EPIC charting system experience required
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2.5 years of acute care experience, with PICU experience preferred
- Experience with ventilator management, CVVH, and vaccine administration
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- CRRT and ICP monitoring experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to critically ill pediatric patients, including complex medical and surgical cases such as congenital heart disease, post-operative cardiothoracic care, respiratory failure, sepsis, and trauma
- Work within a 20-bed high-acuity PICU alongside on-site pediatric intensivists and a multidisciplinary care team
- Peds-friendly scrub top with navy blue bottoms required
- Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
