Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN with prior telemetry experience and a TX or compact RN license for a 12-hour day shift position.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit setting
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and wound care

Additional Information

• Care for Med/Surg Tele patients, including post-MI, orthopedic, and surgical drain cases
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Onboarding modules must be completed onsite during orientation, requiring 4-6 hours for RNs
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers may not be considered for this position
