Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PCU/Stepdown Float position requiring charge nurse experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Float RN role within the Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown team, covering ER boarded, telemetry, and med-surg patients
- Nurse to patient ratios vary from 1:4-6 depending on unit acuity
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
- May include charge nurse responsibilities on select small units, managing staffing, bed flow, and coordination
- Floating required between sister facilities near the contracted site
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- US clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, stepdown/IMC, and med-surg/tele patient populations required
- Skills required include respiratory care, IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and cardiac monitoring
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, chest tubes, and arterial blood gas interpretation preferred
- Experience with insulin drip titration, wound care, and post cardiac procedures preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing staffing needs, bed flow, and coordination when serving in a charge capacity
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the consideration process; post-offer requests may not be granted
- Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles away
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
