Description
American Traveler is hiring a PCU/Stepdown RN for a night shift position requiring strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience.
Details
- PCU/Stepdown and MS/Tele unit setting
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- EOW (every other weekend) required
- Float to MedSurg units as needed
- Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration
- Central and peripheral line care/management
- Manage cardiac drips (no titration)
- Respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
Requirements
- Active RN license (AL or Compact) currently in hand, pending license accepted
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Experience in Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings required
- Ability to start IVs and manage Heparin protocols
- Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
- Proficiency in isolation precautions and PPE use
- Charting system experience required (any EMR)
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response care to PCU/Stepdown patients
- Must work at least one of the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
- RTO requests limited to 7 days maximum
- Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
