Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and at least one year of nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the Cardiothoracic ICU, part of a hospital's Cardiac and Vascular Care center
- Interdisciplinary unit caring for patients with cardiac and vascular disease
- Performs bedside point-of-care testing as part of patient care
- 12-hour day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm
- 36 hours per week across 3 days
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum one year of nursing experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
- BSN or MSN preferred
Additional Information
- Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital ICU setting
- Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
- Participates in patient and family education based on identified learning needs
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care
- Assesses complex patient needs including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects
- Assesses and anticipates discharge planning needs for patients and families
- Participates in unit performance improvement activities and promotes cost-effective care
- Maintains awareness of public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting healthcare
