Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a newly established Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit, requiring 2 years of progressive or critical care nursing experience with cardiovascular specialty skills.
Details
- 16-bed Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) within a Heart and Vascular Center
- Serves as a bridge between the Heart and Vascular Unit and the Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit (CVCC)
- Cares for complex cardiovascular medicine and cardiothoracic surgery patients, including those transitioning from CVCC and post-procedure recovery
- 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Rotating and night shift schedules only
- 36 or 48 hour schedules available
Requirements
- Active RN license (NH or Compact)
- ACLS certification required
- 2 years of Progressive level of care or Critical Care nursing experience required
- Cardiology and cardiac surgery specialty experience required
- Experience with continuous invasive pressure monitoring (arterial line, CVP monitoring)
- Experience with temporary pacing (transvenous and epicardial wire pacing)
- Experience managing vasopressor infusions (phenylephrine, norepinephrine)
- Experience managing inotrope infusions (milrinone, dobutamine)
- Chest tube management experience
- Phlebotomy and peripheral IV insertion skills
- Experience with primary continuous bedside monitoring (ECG, SpO2, BP, RR)
- Critical care experience highly preferred, not limited to cardiac ICU
- Charge RN and precepting experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care for a complex, higher-acuity cardiovascular patient population
- Opportunity to strengthen cardiovascular assessment, telemetry, and early recognition of patient deterioration skills in a collaborative progressive care setting
- Dress code allows any color scrubs per facility policy
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
- No local candidates permitted
