Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift hospital position requiring 2 years of experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele (MS/Tele) unit of a hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS or Stroke Certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent hospital nursing experience
• 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac dysrhythmia management, and wound care
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Experience with GI, GU/renal, and neurological patient care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to med/surg and telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Orientation sessions held biweekly
• Must pass an EKG/Telemetry exam onsite
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
• Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have been employed within the past 6 months
• RTO requests limited to 5-7 days maximum
