Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN with 2+ years of current Pediatric Med Surg experience and a KY or compact license for a night shift assignment.
Details
- Pediatric Med Surg unit with Meditech EMR
- Night shift schedule (3x12 and 4x12 rotating, 19:00-7:30)
- 84 hours per two-week pay period on a 36/48 rotating schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Float required within scope of practice
- Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Minimum 2 years of current Pediatric Med Surg experience required
- Experience with cardiovascular dysrhythmia management and interpretation
- Experience with hyperbilirubinemia and gastrointestinal care
- Breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk experience
- Experience with bottle, breast, and gavage feedings
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/implanted line care experience
- Respiratory care experience including oxygen delivery systems and BiPAP/CPAP management
- Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
- Valid driver's license matching permanent address required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted (medical/religious exemptions reviewed case-by-case)
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to pediatric medical-surgical patients including dysrhythmia management, respiratory support, and feeding support
- Orientation is conducted bi-weekly
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
- Up to 7 days of RTO considered if submitted upfront with no changes accepted
- Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
- Two professional references required (one charge or higher, one supervisor), both completed within the last year
- Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
- Travelers who have worked one year in the system must take a minimum 6-month break before returning
- First-time travelers are not required for this role
