Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of hospital experience for an inpatient rehab unit specializing in stroke and neuro re-education.

Details

  • Inpatient rehab therapy unit within a hospital setting
  • 44-bed unit with a 4:1 patient ratio
  • Staffed by 10 OT/PT teams, 3 speech therapists, and 1 tech
  • Equipment includes Sara Lifts, Ceiling Lifts, Bioness, and Diego
  • Documentation completed in Meditech Expanse
  • Monday through Friday schedule with 8-hour shifts between 7am-5pm, with rotating weekends
  • May float to acute hospital units if rehab census is low
  • Unit holds Joint Commission Stroke Certification

Requirements

  • Active Occupational Therapist license required, if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting required
  • Hospital and inpatient rehab experience preferred
  • Experience with stroke evaluation and treatment required
  • Skilled in manual therapy for neuro re-education, therapeutic exercise, functional activity, neuromuscular re-education, self-care training, and functional e-stim
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Use AIDET communication framework and provide immediate service recovery with patients
  • Required dress code of black scrub bottoms with a royal blue top
  • 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates will not be considered
