Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Float Pool role covering Med/Surg and Telemetry units within the hospital
• Treats adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac diagnoses
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6, flexing up to 1:7 as needed
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7p-7a)
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling and blocked scheduling permitted
• Cerner EMR used
• RT covers specialty IV lines; RN expected to maintain primary IV skills

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and PCU/Step Down experience preferred
• Float pool experience preferred
• Telemetry monitoring experience on the unit required
• Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not considered for this role

Additional Information

• Float to other MS/Tele units within the hospital as needed
• Black scrubs required
• Preference for no RTO during holidays, though a single holiday request may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• No radius restriction for candidates
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to be eligible for return
