Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience.
Details
- Work on a Med/Surg unit with telemetry capability, primarily serving a Med/Surg patient population
- Patient types include observation, respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative/hospice/end-of-life, psychiatric observation, diabetes management, and surgical/surgical observation patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed)
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with respiratory care including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
- Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across a varied Med/Surg and telemetry caseload, including surgical, respiratory, diabetic, and palliative/hospice patients
- Respond to rapid response and code team activations as needed
- RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted within this radius
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Education verification required; degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list will not be accepted
- No open background check cases permitted for consideration
