Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a hospital-based night shift position requiring at least 1 year of specialty experience and EPIC charting proficiency.
Details
- Work within a hospital Respiratory Therapy department
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
- May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT)
- Current state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist required (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification required (AHA, not expiring prior to start)
- ACLS, NALS, and PALS certifications preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty being applied for
- EPIC charting experience required
- Date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide advanced-level respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary deficiencies per physician orders
- Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing procedures including arterial blood gases
- Administer medications safely and evaluate patient response according to protocol
- Communicate patient progress and condition updates with physicians, nurses, and other departments
- Educate patients and families on health promotion, wellness, and self-care techniques
- Complete documentation per departmental standards and monitor equipment/supplies
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for process improvement
- Act as a resource, consultant, and mentor to CRT staff and other team members
- Participate in quality improvement and research activities with the Respiratory Care Team
- Background check and drug screening required, with results needed within approximately 2 weeks of start
- Permanent staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
