Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring Med/Surg Step Down experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.
Details
- Work in the Med Specialty Step Down unit of a hospital setting
- Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma or compact/eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
- Med/Surg Step Down experience required
- ICU experience and ACLS certification preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and procedures
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
Additional Information
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitor physiological data and intervene as needed
- Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge education
- Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
- Facility enforces strict compliance and credentialing deadlines with no start date flexibility
- Returning workers may extend a contract once up to 26 weeks total, then require a 6-month separation before reapplying
- 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or assignment termination
