Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position supporting a new cardiac surgery program, requiring prior fresh post-surgical cardiac recovery experience and advanced device training.

Details

• Critical Care Services unit with 4 beds
• Patient ratios of 1:1 for immediate post-surgical patients and 1:2 for POD 1-3
• Primary nursing staffing model
• Uses Meditech Expanse documentation system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week with 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
• Floating required at the same patient ratio as the unit floated to
• Supports a newly launched cardiac surgery program

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or compact)
• Current ACLS certification
• 1-2 years of experience with fresh cardiac surgery patients and direct primary recovery
• Advanced skills in balloon pump and Impella management required
• Hemosphere or Acumen monitoring training required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct recovery care for fresh post-surgical cardiac patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position
