Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift hospital assignment requiring adult ICU experience and RRT certification.
Details
- 13-week travel assignment in a hospital respiratory therapy department
- Night shift hours, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with some shifts 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Will float between two facility locations
- Patient ratio of 5 ventilator patients per therapist
- Every other weekend and holiday work required
- No on-call requirement
Requirements
- RT or RCP license in state of employment required if applicable
- BLS certification required via AHA
- ACLS certification required via AHA
- PALS certification required via AHA
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential via NBRC required
- CRTs may be considered with critical care experience
- Adult ICU experience required
- 1-3 years of experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide pulmonary care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction
- Perform patient assessments and implement respiratory care plans
- Respond to emergency codes and manage airways including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
- Deliver aerosolized drugs and manage ventilator setup and operation
- Manage airway support devices including BiPAP and CPAP
- Perform chest film analysis, blood gas collection and analysis, and EKG analysis
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation
- May serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader
- May perform advanced practice skills including therapeutic gas management, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, and transport duties
- Gray scrubs required as part of dress code
- Returning employees who previously worked at a CHRISTUS facility must have a 6-month separation period before starting a new travel assignment
