Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NJ or compact license and at least 1 year of critical care, cardiac, or ED experience.

Details

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting
• 12-hour PM shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours weekly (7p-7a)
• Floating to a sister hospital nearby as needed
• No on-call requirements
• EPIC EMR charting used

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification required for pediatric ER only
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department nursing
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Deliver competent clinical care including use of emergency equipment and procedures
• Maintain accurate and complete nursing documentation including patient education
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and 2-patient identifier verification
• Use safe patient transfer techniques and proper body mechanics
• Support perioperative and Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) functions as needed
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break
