Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a KY or compact RN license along with ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

• Work in a high-volume Emergency Department seeing 250+ patients daily across 64 patient care areas
• RN to patient ratio of 4:1, supported by ED Techs on staff
• 3x12 night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• 36 hours per week, 0.9 FTE

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Previous nursing experience preferred but not required
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary care team
• Last 4 digits of SSN and MM/DD of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination across the nursing process
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including patient and family education
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility, or local candidates accepted at a lower rate
