Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Neuro ICU night shift position requiring compact or VA licensure and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications.

Details

  • Work in the Neuro ICU setting
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
  • Expect to work 2-3 weekends per month based on unit needs
  • Call responsibilities based on unit needs
  • Floating required with priority given to travelers, in accordance with unit floating policies and clinical experience
  • Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required

Requirements

  • Active compact or VA RN license required in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA-issued BLS accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, preference given to neuro experience
  • BSN not required
  • Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
  • Skills needed include IV therapy, arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, CVA/acute stroke management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV insulin protocols

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to neurological ICU patients
  • Biweekly orientation held on Mondays, including 8-10 hours of required modules completed during orientation and annually
  • Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
  • Local candidates not accepted
  • Scrubs not provided
  • Nicotine-free campus
  • Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis with staff
  • RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no RTO during the first weeks of the assignment
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
