Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center position requiring a compact or VA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.

Details

  • Work in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department within a Level II Trauma Center
  • STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
  • Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:45-7:15) with every other weekend required
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required
  • Staff may float in rotation per unit policy, though floating is uncommon

Requirements

  • Active compact or VA RN license required in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, PALS
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Prior charge nurse experience preferred
  • Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II settings preferred
  • BSN not required
  • Skills in trauma care including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and shock/trauma management required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation required
  • Experience managing psychiatric emergencies, IV therapy, respiratory interventions, and neurological trauma care required

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, pediatrics, psychiatric emergencies, and critical care interventions
  • Responsibilities include triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic splinting
  • Biweekly orientation sessions held on Mondays
  • 8-10 hours of mandatory orientation and annual training modules required
  • Nicotine-free campus
  • Scrubs not provided
  • Must work some holidays in rotation with staff
  • RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with none preferred during the first few weeks
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
