Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift hospital position requiring at least 1 year of experience and recent Epic charting experience.

Details

• Unit focuses on respiratory and neuro diagnostics care
• Adult critical care and pediatric patient populations
• Performs aerosolized medication administration via oral inhalation, EZPAP, IPPB, and MDI
• Provides CPT, incentive spirometry, oxygen therapy, CPAP/BiPAP therapy, and arteriocentesis
• Manages ventilators including BiPAP and CPAP, troubleshoots high pressure alarms, and assists with weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Performs airway management including intubation/extubation assistance, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Uses high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and various nebulizer setups
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Weekend and holiday work required, including Thanksgiving and Christmas coverage
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required unless otherwise specified

Requirements

• RRT certification required; CRT not accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Active license to practice in TN required at time of submission; license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Epic charting experience within the last 18 months required and must be clearly documented on candidate profile
• Must pass Epic competency exam; only one attempt allowed
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with medication administration including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, and Xopenex
• Must be clean-shaven if fit testing is required
