Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I Trauma hospital requiring CA RN licensure and at least 3 years of ICU experience.
Details
- Work in the Neuro and Surgical ICU of a Level I Trauma hospital
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 0700-1930
- Weekend rotation required with no on-call responsibilities
- Floating required as needed
- Epic charting system experience required
Requirements
- Active California RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS required; CCRN and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required, 4 years preferred
- Level I Trauma hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experienced in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, suctioning, and chest tube assistance
- Skilled in management of acute/chronic renal failure and CRRT/CVVHD (preferred)
- Experienced in continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Skilled in stroke management, EVD care, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol, and post-neurosurgical/spinal/TBI care (some preferred)
- Cardiovascular skills including Swan-Ganz monitoring, sheath removal, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, VAD management, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management; ECMO and FloTrac/Vigileo preferred
- Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Skilled in infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, and IV insulin protocols
- Must provide two supervisor references obtained within the past year
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing across neuro and surgical ICU patient populations
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate rate
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
- Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- First-time travelers may be considered if all experience and certification requirements are met
