Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a Level I trauma teaching hospital, requiring CA RN license and 3+ years of ICU experience.
Details
- Work in the Neuro/Surgical Intensive Care Unit of a Level I trauma teaching hospital
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 1900-0730
- Weekend rotation required, no on-call responsibilities
- Floating required as needed
- Epic charting system experience required
- Manages complex ICU patients including ventilated, post-neurosurgery, cardiac, and multisystem organ dysfunction cases
Requirements
- Active California RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required (AHA or ARC only)
- CCRN and TNCC certifications preferred
- 3 years of ICU experience required, 4 years preferred
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP, and suctioning
- Skilled in CRRT/CVVHD, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation
- Skilled in CVA/stroke management, ICP monitoring, EVD, and traumatic brain injury care
- Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac monitoring
- ECMO, Swan-Ganz monitoring, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, and TAVR experience preferred
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
- Current Nursys license verification and all applicable certifications with valid expiration dates required
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to complex ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be considered for the local rate
- Returning staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before reapplying
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Candidates must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
- First-time travelers may be considered if all requirements are met
