Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Sonographer for a Level 2 trauma acute care facility, requiring ARDMS/RCS certification and BLS.
Details
- Acute care setting in a fast-paced, high-volume Echocardiography department within a Level 2 trauma facility
- 6 echo machines across 3 rooms, with most hospital patients scanned bedside
- Perform inpatient and outpatient adult echo studies, primarily Definity and Agitated Saline protocols
- TEE, Exercise Stress, and Dobutamine Stress Echo performed as experience and time permit
- Pediatric case exposure possible but not required
- Uses Philip-brand echo machines (EPIC 7, IE33, CX50) with EPIC-CUPID, TOM TECH reporting, and PACS
- Day shift schedule with variable hours, possible evening shifts (11-7) once fully staffed
- Department staffed Monday through Sunday, 8-hour shifts, with on-call coverage required when not staffed
- Rotating weekend coverage with 10-hour Saturday shifts
- Rotating call responsibilities based on staffing levels, including weekends and holidays
- No floating to other departments
- Average caseload of 5-8 studies per day, averaging 7 cases
- Staff may work independently at times
Requirements
- ARDMS or RCS certification required (CCI or ARDMS accepted)
- BLS certification required
- 2+ years of experience required, 4-5 years preferred
- ND state license required (license required if applicable)
- Adult echo experience required; pediatric experience a plus
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Must be flexible and able to assist with onboarding new permanent staff
Additional Information
- Perform a mix of adult echo studies including Definity and Agitated Saline, with potential for TEE and stress echo procedures
- Work independently at times within a high-volume department
- Gray scrubs required
- Badge in and out required at facility
- Does not accept local candidates with permanent addresses within 80 miles of the facility
- Clinicians with prior employment at this health system must have an end date at least 6 months before their submission date
