Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility position requiring ND or compact licensure and prior LTC experience.

Details

• Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility setting with 26 beds/residents
• Patient population includes heart disease, diabetes, and dementia diagnoses
• Nurse-to-resident ratios are 1:10 on days and 1:19 on nights
• 12-hour day shifts from 7a-7p with every other weekend required
• No blocked scheduling or self-scheduling available
• No IVs, titratable drips, or telemetry monitoring on this unit
• No on-call or floating requirements
• Uses MatrixCare/Matrix charting system
• PT available as needed; social worker designee supports residents
• Physician availability is by phone on-call after hours
• Off-site pharmacy with medication dispensing system
• Oxygen therapy equipment includes concentrators and portable concentrators

Requirements

• Active ND or Compact (NLC) RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior LTC experience required
• Candidates must not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• Nurse functions as charge nurse, administers medications, and performs wound care
• No clinical involvement beyond standard LTC duties
• No rehab beds on this unit; only LTC care is provided
• RNs are not required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab
• DON oversees the unit; no additional supervisors on staff
• Dress code requires clean and presentable attire with no specific scrub color
• 2-3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
• Holiday coverage required for every other major holiday
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Upfront RTO must be 7 days or less per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved
