Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility position requiring 1 year of experience and a SD or compact RN license.
Details
- Post-acute long term care/skilled nursing facility setting with 55 beds
- Geriatric LTC unit with a behavioral/geri-psych program
- Patient population includes elderly residents with dementia, as well as a small number with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or paranoia managed through medication
- Staffing ratio includes a med aide present 6am-10am and one nurse 10am-6am, with approximate ratios of 1:45 overnight and 1:23 during the day
- Uses Point Click Care (PCC) EMR
- 12-hour day shift block scheduling
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required if it falls within the assigned block schedule
- No on-call or call-back requirements
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week for 12-hour shifts
- Work week runs Sunday through Saturday
Requirements
- Active RN license (SD or compact) required
- BSN required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Geri-psych or LTC psych experience preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to an elderly population including dementia and behavioral health patients in a geriatric LTC psych facility
- Most skilled and COVID-related charting completed during the day shift
- Location-specific orientation includes training, facility tour, competency review, and the opportunity to shadow 1-2 shifts
- Candidates must reside within an 80-mile radius for local placement eligibility
- Local candidates accepted at an adjusted rate
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
