Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for a 12-week day shift assignment requiring GA or compact RN licensure and prior travel experience.

Details

• Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for patients with chest pain, NSTEMI/STEMI, AMI, Afib, CHF, bradycardia, SVT/tachycardia, and other cardiac diagnoses
• Patients undergoing left/right heart cath, TEE, cardioversions, stress tests, pacemaker and AICD insertion
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a similar role
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips; titration experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management preferred
• Respiratory care skills including oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and HFNC preferred; tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience caring for pre/post cardiac cath and post-MI patients
• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct cardiac telemetry care including monitoring, emergency response, and medication management
• Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
• Maximum 7 days of RTO per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
• No RTO permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required per facility policy: one holiday RTO request may be considered only if three major holidays fall within the assignment
• Observed holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Former Piedmont perm, PRN, or internal staff must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or deemed not returnable to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
• Full compliance required prior to start date, or start may be delayed by two weeks due to biweekly orientation scheduling
