Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical Surgical RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and a TN or compact RN license

Details

• Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6-7 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:30-7:00)
• 36/36 and 36/48 schedules available
• Floating required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral/central line care
• Experience managing BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Tracheostomy care/management preferred
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience preferred
• Experience with rapid response/code teams preferred
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care
• Experience managing CVA and renal failure patients
• Experience with surgical drains and total joint replacement care preferred
• Experience administering heparin and insulin

Additional Information

• Participate in nursing student clinical education and support alongside direct patient care duties
• Must reside 100+ miles from the hospital's service area; local candidates not accepted
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit-testing guidelines
• Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• AHA certification is the only accepted form for ACLS or BLS
