Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Intermediate Care/Step-Down unit requiring Level II Trauma experience and TX or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Intermediate Care Unit (IMC)/Step-Down setting within a Level II Trauma Center
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Special care areas include cardiac drips, post cath lab procedural care, and trach/vent patients
- Weekend commitment of 6 shifts per schedule period
- Floating required between units
- No on-call requirements
- 48-hour work weeks approved
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required; CPI preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required, 2+ years in Progressive Care or Intermediate/Stepdown preferred
- Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Experience with cardiac drip titration, post cath lab care, and trach/vent management required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Charge RN experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide care for cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and renal patient populations with telemetry monitoring
- Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
- Manage vasoactive and cardiac drips, including titration
- Dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply with required experience
- Former employees may return after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
