Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level II Trauma Center with strong neuro experience required and a CA RN license in hand.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) in the ICU
• Level 2 Trauma, Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center with high acuity neuro population
• Patient population includes cardiovascular, multi-trauma, gunshot wounds, stroke, STEMI, motor vehicle accidents, and ortho cases
• Also covers 12 overflow beds
• STEMI receiving, CABG/Valve/IABP, CRRT, sepsis, and surgical patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Epic charting system preferred
• Floating required between PCU and ICU overflow units
• No weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card (obtained within the last 30 days)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Community Hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous travel experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, arterial line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Work in a Magnet-designated, 377-bed acute care hospital
• Scrubs of any color permitted, with L&D and OR scrubs provided
• Free parking available on-site
• Floating expected between facilities within the state as needed
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Local candidates accepted
• Candidates residing within 50 miles may be considered local
• Former Providence facility employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as travelers and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• RTO requests must be noted at time of submittal and kept minimal
