Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level II Trauma Center night shift position requiring strong neuro experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Work in a high-acuity ICU with 12 overflow beds
• Level II Trauma Center and Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center
• STEMI receiving facility treating cardiovascular, multi-trauma, gunshot, stroke, motor vehicle accident, and ortho patients
• Also manages CABG/Valve/IABP, CRRT, sepsis, and surgical patients
• High acuity neuro patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• No weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement
• Float required between PCU and ICU overflow units
• Epic EMR used (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (must be in hand, pending licenses not accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card certifications required (LA Fire Card must be dated within last 30 days)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Strong neuro experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Neurological skills required including CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, and traumatic brain injury management
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
• Must disclose any license or background check issues at time of consideration

• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Candidates must disclose any prior employment history with Providence facilities, including dates and location
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period if located more than 50 miles from the facility
• Local candidates accepted, though at a lower bill rate
• Candidates residing under 50 miles are considered local
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of application and minimized to avoid delays
