Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a TX or compact RN license in hand.

Details

  • Work in the ICU of a short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds
  • Patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
  • Block schedules required, approved based on unit need
  • Weekend requirement of minimum 6 shifts in a 6-week period
  • Floating between units required
  • Floating to sister facilities nearby may be required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration required
  • Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care required
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Care for critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention in the ICU
  • Dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
  • Free parking available in designated employee/visitor lots
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be granted
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate, or within it for local rate
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period if outside the 50-mile radius
  • Travel experience required; first-time travelers not considered for this role
  • Floating to sister facilities within the state may be required as part of the assignment
