Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift Med/Surg RN with Level II trauma and renal/urology/transplant experience for a teaching hospital in Des Moines, IA.

Details

• Med/Surg unit within a 22-bed hospital setting
• General med/surg patient population including renal, transplant, and urology cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every 3rd weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float across campuses to like units (MWH, ILH, IMMC)
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg experience in a hospital/medical center setting required
• Strong experience in renal and urology required
• Proficient transplant care experience required
• Level II trauma experience required
• Level I trauma experience highly preferred
• At least one travel contract completed within the previous 15 months required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment
• Holiday rotation required; must work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays including Thanksgiving
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Candidates who were previously employed by the health system (FTE or PRN) may be restricted from working travel assignments at other facilities within the same market
• First-time travelers may not be considered, as at least one prior travel contract is required
