Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring 5+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

  • RRT unit providing respiratory and neuro diagnostics services
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • Weekend coverage required as needed, approximately 7+ weekend shifts per month
  • Call required
  • Floating required
  • Gray scrubs required (not provided)

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience required, though new graduates will be considered
  • BLS and RRT certifications required
  • ACLS, CRT, NRP, and PALS certifications preferred
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Experience in adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pulmonary function test lab preferred
  • Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures including ECMO, high frequency ventilators, and intubation preferred
  • Experience managing patients with ARDS, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and pneumonia preferred
  • Pulmonary function testing experience including spirometry, lung volume testing, and bronchial provocation testing preferred
  • Ventilator management skills including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation preferred
  • State-issued ID required for consideration
  • License required if applicable

Additional Information

  • Perform respiratory therapy and neuro diagnostic services across a range of patient populations
  • Administer medications via various delivery systems including nebulizers, MDIs, and aerosol setups
  • Provide airway management including intubation assistance, extubation, and tracheostomy care
  • Support neonatal and pediatric transports and high-risk deliveries
  • Candidates living within 90 miles are considered local and accepted at the local rate
  • Required pre-start training modules must be completed prior to start, with remaining modules completed during orientation and annually
  • RTO requests limited to no more than 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request permitted during the Nov-Jan holiday season
  • All RTO must be approved by management prior to contract signing
