Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, major teaching hospital Emergency Department
• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patient populations
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Uses Meditech EMR for charting
• High patient-to-caregiver ratios with frequent floating within the hospital
• Holiday and weekend coverage required in rotation with staff

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Experience with a broad range of ER conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, respiratory, and pediatric emergencies

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac events, psychiatric emergencies, and pediatric cases
• Perform skills such as 12-lead EKG acquisition, splinting, triage, and isolation precautions/PPE use
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility and local candidates are not accepted for this assignment
• Minimal to no requested time off will be approved unless discussed and approved prior to assignment start
• Previous staff must have been separated for at least 1 year and in good standing to be considered for return
• Scrub color required is royal blue/white
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
