Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring prior travel experience and competency floating across multiple ICU settings.

Details

• 13-week travel assignment in the Critical Care Float Pool at a Level I trauma center
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to float across multiple ICU environments including neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, and PCCU, as well as ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
• Every other weekend required with rotating holiday coverage
• 48-hour work weeks available for interested candidates

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma center ICU experience and experience floating across varied ICU units strongly preferred
• Must complete a competency test within 24 hours of consideration, with up to 2 attempts to pass
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required; Canadian SIN not accepted
• Minimum of 1 reference within the past year from a supervisor or manager (charge nurse references not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU units as part of a float pool team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccination required with only medical exemptions accepted; personal or religious declinations not accepted
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• More than 3 call-outs within the 13-week assignment may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration
• Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of specific counties (Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington) are not eligible
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
