Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring 2+ years of LDRP experience and NRP/EFM certification on a Level 3 Trauma campus.
Details
- 13 labor beds and 5 triage rooms with an average daily census of 9-10 patients
- High risk antepartum, active labor, triage, and immediate postpartum patient population including pre-eclampsia and other hypertension disorders of pregnancy
- 60-65 deliveries per month
- RN to laboring patient ratio of 1:1-2
- EPIC EMR used
- Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, GE monitors, and unit-specific equipment including Monica Novii and Neptune
- 12-hour night shift schedule, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week on a 4-week schedule cycle
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- No call requirements
- Floating required within Region 1 facilities (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH peds only) as needed within scope of practice
Requirements
- Active RN license, NC or compact, required
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required
- Skills in labor management, cesarean section circulating, pre-op, PACU, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin management, and epidural management
- EPIC EMR experience required
- At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year if previously in a permanent position there
Additional Information
- Support team includes a unit secretary, scrub tech, OB mentor, 24/7 charge nurse, in-house phlebotomy and IV/VAT team, 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalist, intensivist, OB physicians, and anesthesia/CRNA team
- Orientation includes facility-wide NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation
- Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays
- Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with contract hours to be made up at the end if not met
- Hospital-provided green OR scrubs required
- Unit culture described as hardworking with strong team collaboration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for travel assignment
